Back to roguelikes

Hello and a happy, peaceful and healthy 2021, everyone.

Wow. It's two years since that last big update to LambdaRogue. It's certainly not as long as has been between 2012 and 2018, but still. Time flies so fast, and with each year, it seems to get even faster.

I was doing lots of non-roguelike related work, writing flight simulation and game reviews, publishing a few books, and working on my "main" job. But in the last weeks, I got back to roguelikes finally. I created a tiny (really tiny) roguelike for a very old East-German Z80-based home computer (called KC85/4), using an emulator. Many years ago I had such a device, and working nearly two weeks on that game brought back some nice memories. However, it's not done yet and I doubt I will release it.

But LambdaRogue is a different topic. I just read the changelog included with the last update from the end of 2018, and more than once I thought: "oh, cool, I really implemented that?" or "oh, nice, I forgot that you can do that now". That is at least ONE advantage of having long breaks between releases -- I forget about many details of the game and can enjoy it as PLAYER, not as developer.

So in the upcoming weeks, I will play the game with a relatively fresh mind and then report back here, about the next possible updates :)

Thanks for all downloaders, donators and the positive reviews :)
